We received a letter saying that some Roman artefacts had been uncovered on our school grounds. We really enjoyed digging for the artefacts and enjoying some time to explore the forest school area. We've been having lots of fun practising our sewing techniques today. Lots of 'Stickability' required! This afternoon we learnt how to do a running stitch and a cross stitch. Today we used our completed Roman shields to make different formations such as the 'tortoise' and 'wedge' We marched and chanted 'sin, dex, sin, dex' which meant 'left, right, left, right' Do you like our Roman shields? Please comment below. We had great fun today investigating symmetry in 2D shapes. We cut shapes out and folded them and also used mirrors to check the symmetry. We enjoyed playing this game in our warm up: www.topmarks.co.uk/symmetry/symmetry-matching We're learning about shape this week! Have a go at some of these fun games all about shapes and their properties: www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/shapes Today we did a great job of painting our Roman shields. They're nearly ready for our battle! This afternoon we began designing our own Roman shields. Watch this space...! We took the opportunity to get out in the gorgeous sunshine to practise our spellings! |
