For our DT topic this term, we created our own locally sources' Shropshire Salad' We practised chopping techniques and tasted new flavours. We even had a visit from chef James Sherwin of the Restaurant 'Wild Shropshire.' The children tasted a range of locally sourced ingredients and also learnt how ants were used to flavour dishes such as ice cream due to their lemony taste. We learnt that this is due to the fact that lemons are not grown locally!
